Interlocked Crosses

As I noted in an earlier blog entry, when I’m headed cross country to teach a workshop from Miniatures in Minutes, I like to play with some new design options for the foundation I’m teaching.  In about a week and a half, I’ll be in Santa Barbara teaching the 13-Square foundation.  So . . . .

I still had some one-inch strips from the Spider Web block table runner I made up for the “For the Love of Color – A Modern Swap.”  I cut them down to 5 1/2" and put them on the Go! one inch strip die.

And mere moments later was happily (seriously) eyeing little piles of one inch squares.

I knew I wanted to play with the idea of interlocking crosses so I just started laying out squares.

And laid out more squares.

And finally finished with too many squares.  (That’s a 13 by 14 grid I created there – oops!)

But I peeled off the extra row and made up a cute little pouch.  Here it is from the front.

With a little bit of inside showing.

And from the back.

Cute.

And, for the Halloween Mug Rug Giveaway:
