More Bits

Well, one month down on Barbara Brackman’s Civil War Sampler, and I’m not even behind yet (even if I did have to fudge those Seven Sisters to manage it).  This week’s block is Kansas Troubles.  Orienting all the triangles correctly required paying pretty close attention.  At least no one is going to accuse Barbara of coddling us!  Still, what a beautiful block pattern.

I also did up a block for the Bee Obsessed swap.  The theme for this one was things that live in the forest, including fairies.  So, here’s a little fairy house.

I found that house block when I was going through some old EQ5 project files.  It was called Stumpy’s House and it wasn’t anything I drew myself.  I have no idea where it came from.

And finally, a couple of close up shots of the “Flight” theme MiniQT swap.  I did something a little odd with this quilt, so I am really hoping my partner likes it.  I mean, I like it, but I’m aware my taste isn’t always traveling a well worn path!

I’ll show the whole quilt once it arrives at its new home.

Meanwhile, there are more swaps in process.  (This is probably what is known as being an addictive personality).  First another mug rug swap and then the ever wonderful Doll Quilt Swap.

And, my intentions are good!  I’m still making progress on the circle quilt.  You’ll see.  Soon.

Meanwhile, I am NOT looking forward to walking Mr. Personality tomorrow morning.  I missed yesterday afternoon’s walk and then this morning’s walk – which meant that today’s afternoon walk was a MUST.  I couldn’t go out until nearly five which meant the temperature was dropping.  I did the smart thing (perhaps . . . perhaps not) and didn’t even check the temperature first.  I just bundled up until I looked like the Michelin Tire Man.  Even then, when I first stepped out the door I wasn’t sure I was going to make it go.  Just a couple of inches of bare skin on my face and, boy, I felt it!  Mr. I Love The Cold wasn’t bothered at all.

It’s a good thing I didn’t check the temp until I got back in from the walk.  Weather.com told me that it was –3 and felt like –23.  And, you know, it really did.
